Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) encompasses the interconnection of information-sensing devices that facilitate the exchange of information and communication between networked objects. This connectivity allows for intelligent identification, positioning, tracking, and supervision functions. IoT bridges the divide between the virtual information world and the physical realm, encompassing interactions between properties, objects, and people. It is closely intertwined with the Internet and sensor networks, particularly wireless sensor networks. These networks involve numerous sensors strategically placed throughout a detection area, enabling wireless information transmission and fostering self-organizing intelligent networks. IoT technology has rapidly advanced and matured, offering valuable support for laboratory safety management. This article outlines the development of an IoT-based laboratory security system, providing information and intelligent management tools for enhanced laboratory safety.
