Abstract

In order to enhance steering behavior of FSAE racing car, we built a mathematical model of the post-disconnected steering trapezoid. We established the objective function by using the modified ideal Ackerman steering formula and the geometric relationship between the actual inner and outer corners. And we established a constraint equation aiming at the operational convenience of the steering mechanism. Then, within the boundary of the design variables, the initial values of the design variables are continuously changed by MATLAB to find the design variable parameters that satisfy the fatigue strength, and the actual internal and external angle relationship is maximally close to the ideal Ackerman steering. Meanwhile we simulated the dynamic change of the toe angle of the parallel twowheeled beating by using ADAMS, so that the car can meet the stability requirement.
