Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing various aspects of our daily lives through the deployment of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). WSNs are the backbone of IoT infrastructure, contributing to the development of smart cities, environmental monitoring, health management, and precision agriculture. This paper presents an overview of IoT applications and highlights their impact on diverse fields such as smart building management, energy monitoring, health care, and agriculture. In addition, it discusses the utilization of machine learning techniques for enhancing IoT scenarios and reviews the latest advancements in smart building management systems. Furthermore, this study offers a comprehensive comparison of various IoT development platforms. IoT and WSNs are reshaping the world as we know it, connecting devices, collecting data, and enabling intelligent decision-making in an increasingly interconnected environment.
