Abstract

This paper presents recent improvements in AC-DC difference calibration services and traceability achievement for AC voltage measurements at the National Measurement and Calibration Center (NMCC) in Saudi Arabia. The paper provides information on a new automated calibration system and instructions for building up calibration systems and associated expanded uncertainty. The paper covers the use of thermal converters and their measurement processes, which are used to compare the heating effects of AC and DC signals to measure voltage and current. The NMCC currently provides calibration services for AC-DC thermal transfer instruments at voltages ranging from 1 V to 1000 V. The paper also includes technical applications of the automated calibration system, which includes calibration of AC-DC difference, AC function of calibrator, and AC voltage meter
