Transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) individuals constitute a significant and diverse population in the United States, with an estimated 1.6 million individuals aged 13 and above (Meerwijk and Sevelius, 2017). Despite advances in healthcare inclusivity, this demographic continues to face unique challenges in accessing culturally competent and affirming reproductive healthcare services. In this context, Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) emerge as pivotal stakeholders in providing primary reproductive health care, particularly in underserved settings such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and rural areas. Aligned with the principles outlined in the American College of Nurse Midwifery (ACNM) Hallmarks of Midwifery, CNMs are uniquely positioned to address the diverse needs of TGNC individuals within the framework of comprehensive reproductive healthcare (Butler et al., 2020). By fostering a patient-centered approach that prioritizes inclusivity, respect, and autonomy, CNMs can mitigate barriers to care and promote positive health outcomes among TGNC individuals. This abstract underscore the importance of integrating TGNC-affirming practices within midwifery care to meet the specific needs of this population. Drawing on insights from Meerwijk and Sevelius (2017) and Butler et al. (2020), the abstract highlights the essential role of CNMs in advancing healthcare equity and promoting reproductive justice for TGNC individuals. By embracing principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, CNMs can contribute to the creation of a healthcare system that is responsive to the needs of all individuals, irrespective of gender identity
