China's rapid economic growth has propelled it into the realm of constructing a modern socialist country comprehensively. The 20th priority of the party underscores the imperative of achieving high-quality development as the primary objective of this endeavor. Central to China's financial system, the banking industry must undergo high-quality development across the board, thereby establishing a robust foundation for the nation's economic advancement. Zhejiang Province, renowned as a leading province in China's economic landscape, bears the responsibility of spearheading the development of its banking sector. By assuming a proactive role as a "vanguard," Zhejiang Province aims to pave the way for its economic prosperity. This article explores the nexus between high-quality development strategies and the banking industry's evolution in the context of China's modernization drive. Drawing upon insights from policy directives and empirical studies, it elucidates the imperative of prioritizing high-quality development initiatives within the banking sector to bolster China's economic resilience and sustainability. Furthermore, the article highlights the pivotal role of Zhejiang Province in championing innovative approaches and best practices to elevate the quality and efficiency of its banking industry.
